The first week of May saw Team USA’s most recent Olympic gold medalist begin a transition into coaching one of the nation’s top programs, and it brought a domino effect to Penn State.
Four-time All-American David Taylor accepted a role as Oklahoma State’s head coach while also bringing Thomas Gilman and Jimmy Kennedy from the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club to join the Cowboys’ new staff.
After the NLWC saw three wrestlers advance to represent Team USA, there’s a new transition to be seen. Gilman is a former Hawkeye and joined the NLWC in spring of 2020, while Kennedy has contributed as a coach since the 2022 season.
