DES MOINES, Iowa -- Drake women's soccer's defensive stronghold paired with timely goals led to a 2-0 shutout victory over North Dakota State at Drake Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 27.
During the sixth minute, Emma Nagel was fouled near the top of the box to set up a penalty kick attempt. Nagel buried it into the bottom of the left corner of the net to hand Drake (3-1-0) an early 1-0 advantage.
Only three minutes later, Jess Hanley of the Bison connected with the ball, but the Drake defensive wall deflected it away.
